Spring!

It seems that Spring might be here to stay this time, the glorious weather tease we had a few weeks ago has given way to seasonal temperatures... Not too shabby.
This means a few things, I got the pond up and running and clean and celebrated a birthday! Quite a fun birthday this year, wonderful parties and presents even a super cool popcorn maker (!!!!) and Cara got me a surprise present too, woohoo! Great family and great wife.
Stanley had his first semi-aware of the goings on Easter, though from the pic he does seem suspicious of it all.

On the move!

Seems our boy has discovered vehicles! It started with the rocket (or is it a speedboat?) coin operated ride at the shoe store then things quickly escalated to a new little tricycle.

His walking is getting better and better to, seems to want to be on the move at all times!

More progress!

Well it's spring! Last weekend we all walked down Elgin for some sliding, some ice cream and then dinner.... Ended up being bad timing, the little man was pretty hyper at dinner!
Cara and I got to relive our glory days with St. Patty's at Gracie's! I guess full disclosure is needed, it was brunch with other friends who have kids... But Stanley loves Irish fiddle music, his legs were moving...
Speaking of moving, he learned to climb stairs! Trouble. He's also a good walker when holding onto one of our hands....so sweet!

Mexico!

Well, it's official.....we are now a family that travels together and Stanley loved it! No trouble on the flight, great times with his fun cousins, and some quality time with Gramma and Granpa, plus some exciting plantain and mango baby food! Very exotic!

The resort was beautiful, weather was fantastic and we were there for Damon and Michelle's wedding which was the highlight for everyone. A really fantastic time with our family!

Woohoo!!

Brand new niece today!!

Day Care

A recovered post!!! Trying to be more regular with these AND ideally as the man gets older there will be more about Cara and I!

It seems that day care is simply a breeding ground for illness. After Stanley's first 3 days we were all sick. Within the 3 of us we've had 3 bad flus, 3 colds, 2 ear infections, 2 cases of bronchitis, 4 clinic/dr visits, and 3 types of anti-biotics.

3 days of day care. That is insane.

Thankfully everyone is getting more healthy and Stanley seems to be enjoying himself pretty well, making new friends with the motley crew of kids there. Cara and I developed some nick names but I think it might not be wise to post them online. : )

Back in action?

So, for the last few weeks I've been trying to post but the app I use has been failing.... I've been unhappy with this.

It seems this new app will do the trick so here we go!

For starts there has been many many illnesses since day care started.

All of us had a wicked cold, terrible flu, bronchitis made its rounds and poor Stanley had 2 ear infections. Not good! He's also just started to get another cold. Man oh man!

Fortunately he is mostly happy and healthy, getting into everything now and usually sleeping much better which makes us all happier!

As he gets older and eats more food I get to come off the sideline more often and I'm loving that, he's a great little guy!!! Lots of changes the past few weeks but he's doing GREAT!

Will try and recover my attempted posts....

Someone loves Christmas!

Yeah it's official! Despite a less than stellar experience with Santa, Stanley loves Christmas. He sort of enjoys unwrapping gifts, hates shopping, and loves Christmas carolers! At Rideau Centre while Christmas shopping the carolers had no audience until Stanley forced us to stop, he ended up capturing their attention and getting a lovely private show. It was really a wonderful little time for us, the boy and I assume the carolers as well!

He hates hats and mitts and hasn't really had a first SNOW experience yet, but it's coming soon. We have a nice sled and a cozy snow suit all ready to go.

It's been so good having the holidays off, spending some quality time with Cara and the little man as well as our wonderful families! We love how Stanley bounces between family so well, he's a very friendly little guy with a nice smile for the ones who care for him.

He's really accelerated the words! Suddenly there are new words showing up almost daily, he has a wonderful little voice.

In the best I can remember order: Mama, Dada, Duck, Baby, Bark, Moo, maybe Bye, maybe Please, Mommy was a new one tonight, so fun!!

Mobility

So yeah, the little guy is now VERY mobile! Not a full crawl but a very stable scoot!! Favorite new game is "I'm gonna get you!" which I win all the time, cause I rule.

He's pretty slow on the solid food uptake honestly, he's got the chompers but little interest so far, we'll see how that goes over the next few weeks. Hopefully the teething will slow down now that the majors are mostly in and he can focus on food instead of pain.

Cara and I had a wonderful night out to a Tapas place recently and a Sushi dinner planned! Love the willing babysitters, thank you!!

Suppose I need to mention Halloween, he went as Yoda, looked quite dashing....
